if you ever want to change it (no mp3's -> make mp3's, or has mp3's -> delete mp3's) .. just go to your show details page, hit [edit] near the top, then check (or uncheck) the box next to format options and hit 'update' ... the next page should say "Format options successfuly changed". if it doesn't, go do it again, and 'flip the switch' one time.. i.e. if there are no mp3's, and you go to the page, and the 'do not make mp3's' box isn't checked, check the box, hit 'update' and it will say 'format options updated' (but the 'no mp3' command will be the one imprinted. then just go back in, uncheck it, hit update, and that will be the latest command, so the system will hopefully make the mp3s...

I tried this twice now and still no mp3's???
it's really not a big deal I consider it a lesson learned for next time.
It would be nice for people that want to check it out before they d/l.

I forgot to put the most important part: the mp3 creation / deletion is not instantaneous ... whatever the last 'imprinted command' on the show is (make mp3s), that command is picked up only once every 12 hours (noon, midnight) when the computer sweeps for those changed commands. so sometime in the next 24 hours, it will see that it needs to make mp3s, then it will make them (takes 1-3 hours) and then put them up automatically. just hold tight, if after 3 days they aren't up, we can generate them manually. yeah, for next time just keep an eye on what you are doing nad you'll be fine.

Sorry Tyler and Tye, creation only occurs on audio-uploads at this point. So if you disallow them, you're stuck until the collection is moved to a bigger system (petabox).

Thats fine like I said lesson learned.
I do have a question though can the md5 file be included in the folder with the flac files and still upload?( I assume not)
I know the main page says "make sure the music files are in their own folder" in bold , the only reason I ask is because for some reason my md5 summer will not create an md5 file but a flac file which of course fails. I try right clicking on the folder with the flacs and generating md5 signatures with MKW(which actualy creates an md5 file) and both ways keep saving in the folder with the flac files.
I have tried changing the directory for saving and everything else I could think of to save the md5 file apart from the flac's but when I move the md5's to another folder (window>window) it gets corrupted.
Any ideas on why this is happening?

In fact, the .md5 file must be in the folder right next to the audio files, so your programs are making the correct choice to place them there.
I know that md5summer does *not* create a flac file. It does create an .md5 file. By default it may take the front part of its name from the fileset's folder name. If you have named that folder as something.flac, it may look to you like the .md5 has that something.flac in its default name, but it is *not* a flac file.
The caution to have music files in their "own" folder is so that people
-don't put *unenclosed* files in their upload area (which won't be recognized as a show without a properly named enclosing folder)
and
-don't throw multiple shows into the same folder

Note, the compressed audio files have the .txt and .md5 files alongside of them within the folder.
Think of it like this: Your sending a show into the LMA is like mailing a letter to a friend. What you mail needs to be in a properly addressed envelope, and the important things need to go into the envelope in order to get to your friend.

ok I'm confused I uploaded this Waybacks show

and still no streaming audio. Is there something I need to do to assure there is streaming audio? ( I left the "do not make lossy format box unchecked)

Actually I just double checked and the "do not make lossy format box was checked??? I know for sure it was not checked does this automaticaly get check if for some reason it can not create the streaming audio??

The only automatic thing that happens with the no-lossy box is that if a band specifies lossies are not to be made, we limit it so that the checkbox option will not even appear.
I have never seen a report till yours of that box being filled in during upload without user choice or misclick. The default is set to empty box = make derivatives.
